2009 North Texas Food Bank Food4Kids Campaign Hits Donations Record of $291,000; 2010 Campaign Kicks Off with a Strong Start
The North Texas Food Bank has announced that the 2009 Food4Kids letter campaign for the North Texas Food Bank, to feed hungry kids through the school backpack program, has raised a record $291,331 in donations. In only its third year, the program provides nutritional snacks in discreet backpacks on Friday afternoons to those students who are identified as 'food challenged'. As a result, over 58,170 backpacks filled with food will be distributed to 1,454 kids every weekend during the school year. Additionally, the 2010 campaign has just kicked off with $60,000 in lead donations. - 2009-08-11
